Andy McDonald

Andy McDonald is the Managing Director of BerlinRosen’s national issue advocacy practice.  At BerlinRosen, Andy partners with leaders of national, regional and local organizations and coalitions to develop winning strategies for tough political fights and complex policy challenges.

Andy brings diverse experience from both inside and outside of Washington and a deep understanding of communications and organizing to message development, earned and paid media strategy, internal and online communications and effective crisis response.

Before joining BerlinRosen, he worked at The Pew Charitable Trusts, guiding advocacy campaigns on issues including state fiscal policy and the economy, sentencing and corrections reform, and investment in children.  Prior to his work at Pew, Andy spent eight years at SEIU leading communications for the national Justice for Janitors campaign and other major labor and legislative campaigns. He previously served as Press Secretary to the late U.S. Senator Paul Wellstone (D-Minnesota).
